In this conversation, FBI Director Hoover and President Johnson discuss the possibility of a Presidential Commission to study the assassination, something that both LBJ and Hoover are resisting at this point. Johnson crudely asserts that "we can't be checking up on every shooting scrape in the country." Agreeing that it would be a "regular circus," Hoover laments the Washington Post's participation in this matter, saying "I view it like the Daily Worker."
